In March, 2019, the Adrian Youth Hockey Association Board had announced the first MHSAA co-op for Varsity hockey and Lenawee United Hockey begun. The club's inaugural season of 2019-20 was under the umbrella of AYHA.

On August 1, 2020, the Lenawee United Hockey Boosters, Inc. filed Articles of Incorporation in the State of Michigan and now operates independent of AYHA though still working collaboratively for the growth and development of youth hockey in Lenawee County.
